Program Overview:
We live in a fast changing world with rapid
technological advancements. The business environment has also
witnessed a sea change in the way business is conducted. With
technology we are now able to store, retrieve and analyze
vast amounts of data, which was not possible a few decades
earlier. The most successful companies today, are those who
not only collect the right kind of data but also analyze and
interpret it to serve their customers better. The Knowledge
economy runs on information, and it requires skilled professionals
to delve into large volumes of data and meaningfully analyze
and interpret it.
The University of Calcutta, in its effort to include programs
that are aligned to industry needs, has under the "Industry-Institute
Partnership Program" banner tied-up with Globsyn Technologies
to offer a one of its kind "Post Graduate Diploma in
Applied Economics and Information Management" (PGDAEIM)
program. The academic tie up between University of Calcutta
and Globsyn Technologies towards design and delivery of the
program encompasses industry wide feedback and hence the relevance
of the program to the present corporate environment.
The PGDAEIM is the first of its kind and aims to create professionals
specialized in data mining, data restructuring, interpretation,
analysis etc. The curriculum is a judicious mix of academic
concepts and application skills in the areas of Data Analytics,
Data Search & Aggregation Techniques, Conceptual framework
of Data Analysis & Interpretation, Statistics, Research
methodology, Accounting & Financial Management, Software
tools in Finance & Data Management, Business Communication,
Lab sessions and Project Work.
Eligibility
and Selection:
Graduate from any of the UGC recognized
University (10+2+3/4 years) system are eligible for the program.
Final year students can also apply. (They will be eligible
for provisional admission).
Preference will be given to the students
of following graduation streams :

The admission will be strictly on the merit
based on the profile of the candidate and personal interview.

Industry Academia Meet:
Globsyn run programs have always been recognized and endorsed by the industry. Every year we organize a corporate meet with leading recruiters to deliberate upon the program scope, curriculum design and coverage while taking a dipstick on the ever expanding career opportunities.
The year, Calcutta University and Globsyn Business School have jointly organized a “Industry Academia” meet on June 15th, involving probable recruiters like HSBC, HDFC, Royal Sundaram Alliance, Intrasoft Technologies, Connectiva, Labvantage, Kotak group, Cognizant Technology Solutions etc among others.
