Serendipity
A two days event entirely organized by
students, Serendipity is the annual students' day at the
Globsyn Campus. The morning sessions are devoted to management
studies oriented activities like seminars and quizzes involving
other Management Schools of India, while the evening is
dedicated to cultural programs where parents are invited
as guests. Students of all major B School and Techies of
Sector V participate in different competitive events. The
event is entirely managed by the 2nd year students. This
annual event at Sector V has made a mark in the events map
of Kolkata, with press and electronic media participation
and sponsored activities.
Picnic
An out of campus winter event for Globsyn
students. Since inception, students organize this camp at
an ideal outing place nearby Kolkata. Night outs, bonfire,
songs and music helps build a team of budding managers uniting
them for their future, irrespective of where they work or
stay.
Fest
The students take part almost in all of the major events
organized by other top Institutes like IIMC, XLRI, XIMB
etc. Apart from the annual events organized by others, our
students also involve themselves in selected occasional
events of major Institutes. GBS students have won several
prizes in Quiz competitions, Ad contests, Debates, and management
games.
Students' Council
A students' council is formed for each
batch comprising of members nominated by the faculty and
the management. The council is the interface between the
school and the students. It is responsible for taking up,
discussing and solving student issues in regular interactions
with the school representatives..
The Placement Process
The students are involved in the entire
CRP as a whole. There are student bodies like Placement
Committee, CRP committee etc who get involved in activities
like preparation of the CRP Brochure, interacting with the
companies and so on. Each team has an assigned role which
they carry out under guidance of the school. In the first
year the placement CD prepared by students was a one of
its kind in India having sound bytes and motion clippings
of every student, automated E Mail generation software.
It also contained profiles and project details of each of
the students along with the Institute information.
